Huw studied dentistry in London, but decided that teeth were ‘not his thing’! He then went to the University of Wales Swansea and studied for a chemistry degree. He gained his Masters certificate at the University of Ohio before returning to Swansea to undertake a PhD in organic chemistry. Huw then worked at the university as a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer in the field of separations technology, before joining the biotechnology company Molecular Nature as a senior natural products chemist.


Huw has worked as an industry writer/journalist for dolffin since leaving Molecular Nature in 2003. He has undertaken many varied writing and editing assignments, writing on such topics as packaging, tobacco industry, mobile communications, on-shore/off-shore oil and gas, industrial technology, electronics and engineering – as well as many others!
